Kathgodam is a town that is present in the Nainital district in the state of Uttarakhand. The town serves as the entry point to many of the tourist destinations in the state. There are many places of interest that can be seen in the town and it is famous for its numerous beautiful temples. The temples dedicated to Sheetla Devi and Kalichaud attract many pilgrims and devotees from many of the nearby regions, and this is especially true during the festival season.There is an ashram called the Harikhan that is located nearby and this is also worth a visit while travelling to the town of Kathgodam. One can also visit the dam that has been built over the River Gola. This is a popular picnic spot in the region. As the place is located on the foothills of the Himalayan mountain range, one can witness many pristine views from the town. From Kathgodam one can visit the hill station of Nainital and this is a popular summer retreat for many tourists.The main attraction of the place is its scenic beauty and the pristine hills that are located nearby. This is a place many travelers use to get away from hustle and bustle of modern life. The place does not receive significant amount of rainfall and the entire region is generally considered to be dry during the monsoon season. The limited rainfall that can be seen in the region is predominantly during the months from July to September. Temperatures are cool and this is a good time to visit the place. The months of October and November are also pleasant.

By Air : The closest airport is located at a place called Pantnagar. The airport is located around 71 km from the town of Kathgodam. There are two main operators that ply flights to the airport and it is connected to Delhi through regular flights. Taxis can be hired from the airport and they charge around Rs 7 per km for the short trip. Taxis are comfortable and they also facilitate easy carrying of luggage.

By Train : Kathgodam has its own Railway Station named as Kathgodam Railway Station and is well connected to the major cities of the state. It is linked with the cities like New Delhi, Dehradun, Lucknow, Kanpur, Indore and Kolkata through Anvt Kgm Sht, Bagh Express, Utr Samprk K Express and Kgm Garib Rath.
