Ilijaš is a town and municipality located north east of the inner city of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. According to 1971 population census there were 23.007 residents. According to 1991 population census there were 25.184 residents. After the 1991 population census, Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared themselves as Bosniaks.
