The Schlosskopf castle is the latest and most important of the castles around Reutte. In 1703 the Schlosskopf castle was the base for recapturing the Ehrenberg castle.
In 1703 the Ehrenberg was recaptured. In 1733 the construction of the fortress started, which was completed in 1741.
In 1782 this imposing fortress was closed down after only 41 years. The imposing remnants tell of a fortress that was said to be impregnable at its time.
