Detail InformationEdit
As early as in the 11th century a hunting lodge with a Chapel is said to have been constructed at the site. Its first mention dates back to 1445 with a document regulating church services. At that time two hermits also lived at the site. In 1497 Magdalena Getzner from Hall founded an Augustinian monastery that was connected to the St. Magdalena monastery in the Halltal valley. The monastery was destroyed by fire in 1520, so the sisters moved to Hall. The foundation of the church with the ribbed vaulting, organ, high windows and abutment dates back to the Gothic era.
Since 1939 the monastery has been inhabited by Franciscan nuns from Solbad Hall.
