According to records, the St. Helena Chapel is the oldest sacred building in the upper Lesachtal valley. It was built in Roman style and closed between 1780 and 1786 by the Emperior Josef II. It was reerected in 1850, transformed into a Lourdes Chapel in 1891 and restored in 1903. The St. Helena chapel was discovered by many photographs as an idyllic subject in the meadows of Tilliach and can be found on some calendar pages.
