Detail InformationEdit
Stone church on the eastern outskirts of Aurach, with mighty chestnut trees to both sides.
This Chapel is said to be the oldest building in Aurach. For many years the chapel´s most valuable possession was a 16th-century, late Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary, which was later altered in Baroque style. In the course of the construction of a new school building the statue was purchased by the local authorities and carefully restored. It is now kept in a safe place, while a Baroque-style reconstruction can still be seen in the chapel, which was restored by a group of young local farmers. New pews were added in 1984. Opening Hours Accessible at any time.
