Detail InformationEdit

The Wood has always been of great significance in the history of the village and even gave it its name some 800 years ago.
The Parish and the village of Waldneukirchen derived its name from the “New Church in the Woods”. Historical documents of the area record many professions that are related to the woods, such as hunters, charcoal burners and foresters, explains Parish Priest Josef Kammerer. He very much welcomes the idea of the local hunter´s society who aim at erecting a Chapel amidst the woods. The planned rotunda´s interior will be adorned with the Genesis.
The Chapel will be joined to the elementary school at the village center with a “Nature & Hunting” Theme Trail. Ramblers can then explore nature´s World of wonder and discovery.
