Detail InformationEdit

The fortress of Arbing is towering on a gentle hill between the towns of Perg and Grein.
The town ‘Arbing’ is located in the foothills of the steep “Schlossberg” mountain with its picturesque fortress tower. The square tower features a large platform with well-maintained embrasures on each corner. This outstanding tower (with easily accessible interior) is used as church tower for the neighboring House of God.
The roofed manor building, situated on the southernmost part of the plateau, is not inhabited any more. It is used as a shed or storage room of the related inn which is integrated into the ring wall. Due to the extremely steep terrain the entire fortress and the church square are surrounded by a stone wall. Numerous parts of the former castle, the ring wall and the ward are unfortunately not preserved. Today´s road to the church square is leading directly across the former gate which was discovered next to the moat.
