Detail InformationEdit

This ancient Church was first mentioned in a historical letter of Pope Alexander III, who wrote about the Kremsmünster Estates in 1174.
There has been a church on this location ever since the 8th century. The church you see today is mainly of the year 1478. The original 15th century tower is 32 meters tall and is a good example of a Medieval defensive structure. The plan of the church is that of a late-Gothic ´defensive church´. Under the reign of Emperor Josef II, all parish priests were commanded to live on the site of their parish. Thus, another story was added to the existing vicarage, which then housed a classroom as well.
