Detail InformationEdit

There has been a place of worship on the location of today´s Taxlberg Church ever since the year 341.
Fischlham-based local historian Erwin Theuer (former owner of Bernau Castle at Fischlham) found out that there has been an ancient place of worship on Taxlberg, the site of today´s Taxlberg Church. As legend has it, this ancient place was founded by three boatmen, who were saved from drowning, to worship Nikus, the River God. This foundation probably dates back to Roman times.
The Church you see today was built by stages and originally is believed to have been a tiny Chapel that was erected on the original site of the ancient place of worship.
