Detail InformationEdit

The Legend of the Three Virgins who guarded Three Springs…
The foundation of the Village Fountain is based upon a local legend that was depicted in the village coat of arms as well: As legend has it, Weibern was once home to three Virgins who guarded three springs and are said to have founded the village itself. Weibern-based master carpenter Hamedinger designed the fountain, showing the three women with their springs as a wrought-iron sculpture.
Behind the Fountain you´ll find a Pavilion that is encircled by a ring wall. This wall surrounds the square and features seats as well as a memorial plaque commemorating Augustin Roitinger, an important representative of Upper Austrian vernacular literature. He was born in Weibern in 1909 and died in 1982.
