The Church of Steinhaus was a Subsidiary Church to Thalheim and first appeared in historical documents in the year 1249.
Nothing is known about the foundation of the original tiny Church. In 1784 it became the Parish Church of Steinheim. The church you see today was built by stages and is the result of various renovation and augmentation works. The most recent alterations date from the year 1988.
