Detail InformationEdit

The Parish Church of Thalheim bei Wels was dedicated to Saint Stephanus in 1070. Both the church´s interior and exterior were constructed in late Gothic style in the middle of the 15th century. Only during the Baroque era the appearance was changed completely by remodeling the interior.
In the course of the late 19th century many Baroque elements were replaced again by Gothic features. But the project almost failed. In 1897 the marble high altar in neo-Gothic style was added. Simon Hädinge, a carpenter from Kremsmünster, designed the pulpit depicting four evangelists. A late-Baroque statue of Saint Christophorus can be found above the south entrance. To the chancel´s exterior a Chapel, a priest´s tomb and a charnel house were added.
