Hedvi is a very calm and pristine location present in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is located in the Konkan region of the state. The Lord Ganesha temple in Hedvi is very popular, because it is a site that’s of major historical relevance. Constructed during the time of the Peshawas, this temple has an idol of Lord Ganesha that is made fully out of marble. This idol is rumored to have been carved out in Jammu and Kashmir and brought all the way to Hedvi during their rule. You can also visit the Uma Maheshwari temple during your stay in Hedvi. This temple is popular among women, who flock to catch a glimpse of this deity throughout the year. The beach in Hedvi is also very famous for its pristine features, and the Brahman Ghal, which is a large black rock that is thirty five feet high, is a prime destination in the beach. The town of Hedvi experiences a temperate climate throughout the year. The main seasons in Hedvi are the seasons of summer, winter and monsoon. Summers in Hedvi are hot, humid and harsh, and winters are mild and moderate.

Hedvi Ganesh temple, Ganesh idol is very charming. There is big ceremony of birth of Ganesh from Shukla Chaturthi to Shashthi in Magh. There is procession of Ganesh in chariot. There are no hotels or lodges so tourists have to stay either in Chiplun or in Guhagar to visit this place. Though tourists will not get accommodation and food according to their choice, they can get it from local community. There is one more temple. It is Uma-Maheshwar temple in Bamanhal.

By Air : The Chatrapathi Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai is the nearest airport to the town of Hedvi. This airport is a very well connected airport with both local and international flights to all important destinations. Local flight fares will range between Rs 4,000 to 7,000.

By Train : The nearest railway station to Hedvi is in the town of Chiplun. This railway station is a minor station in the Konkan Railway line and it has frequent trains to Mumbai, Goa and Pune. Train fares will normally range from Rs 200 (for the basic class of travel) to Rs 600 (for air conditioned coaches).

By Bus : Buses to Hedvi are available from all nearby destinations like Guhagar, Chiplun and Mumbai. Buses from Mumbai are available in both deluxe and semi deluxe versions and also in air conditioned and non air conditioned versions. Volvo buses from the main city of Mumbai to Hedvi will cost you around Rs 900 to Rs 1,000. Normal buses that ply under the Government of Maharashtra charge lesser fares.
