The Chotanagpur plateau lies in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Ranchi is the state capital and is located at an altitude of 2140 feet above sea level. There are many waterfalls that you can visit near here. Hazaribagh, which is a hill station, provides excellent views and houses the Hazaribagh Lake. You can also visit the wildlife sanctuary that is located near this town. Netarhat is another beautiful hill resort which is a must see destination, with its picturesque setting and exotic locales. The region experiences a sub tropical climate, with dry and hot summer and mild winters. There are many hill stations in the region where summers are moderate, and tourists flock to these in summertime to escape from the mainland heat. The best time to visit the Chotanagpur region would be during the winter months, when the weather will be mild.

By Air : There is no airpot in Chotanagpur. The city of Ranchi has a major airport, and this is the only well connected airport in the entire state. You can take a flight to Ranch from major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Bhubhaneshwar, Patna, Raipur, Jamshedpur, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune.
By Train : Trains can also be taken to the city of Ranchi, which houses a major railway station as well. This railway station has regular trains to New Delhi, Bangalore, Gorakhpur, Jammu Tawi, Allepey, Patna, Kolkata, Mumbai and Guwahati.
By BUS : There are buses to Ranchi from Raxaul, Patna, and Gaya.
By Taxi : Taxis and Auto rickshaws are easily available for moving about in the city.
