Ferozpur is a city in the Ferozpur district of the state of Rajasthan. It is an old city and has been more than prominent for around 700 years. The city was first founded by Sultan Feroz Tuglaq and was name after him. The city is located close to the border of Pakistan and also on the banks of the River Sutlej. There are many memorials of freedom fighters that can be found in the city of Ferozpur. The Samadhis of these fighters are located near the Hussainwala Lake and this is one of the main tourist places in the city. Some of the notable memorials are for Bhagat Singh, Sukdev and Rajguru. Ferozpur holds a significant place in Indian history and one can see many different influences in the town of Ferozpur. The city also has many British influences as this was one of the main military strongholds. There are numerous temples and historical sites in the city. One can also witness the changing of guards at the Indo-Pakistan border and this spectacle can be witnessed every evening. The Gandhi Garden, Shitala Mata Mandir and Harike Waterworks are the other important tourist places in the city. One can also visit the village of Feroshah located around 22 km away, where a museum is located.

Firozpur is a city on the banks of the Sutlej River in Firozpur District,state of Punjab.Ferozepur also holds a historic place. It is a border town on the Indo-Pakistan border with memorials to India’s freedom fighters.Ferozepur has easy access by road and rail to other places such as Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Delhi, and Chandigarh, the city is a center of numerous holy shrines and historic places. At the nearby city of Zira a beautiful Jain Swetambar Temple with ancient brass icons and beautiful wall murals is located.

By Air : The closest airport is located at the city of Delhi and this is the best option for those who are arriving by air. The Delhi airport is one of the main airports in the country and there are frequent flights to many places such as Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur and most of the other important cities in the state. Flights arrive from international destinations such as London, New York and many more countries. Taxis are available and they charge around Rs 7 per km.

By Train : There are two stations in the city of Ferozpur. The Ferozpur Cantonment station is an important station in the state and has good connectivity to many cities in Punjab. The place is connected to places such as Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Jammu and many other cities in the northern regions of the country. Autos are available at the station as well. Tickets from Mumbai to Ferozpur cost around Rs 250 for a second class compartment.

By Bus : State buses connect the place to many of the cities in the state such as Amritsar, Delhi, Ludhiana and Chandigarh. Tickets from Delhi cost around Rs 150.

Baisakhi ; Venue:  Ferozpur ; Period :  April ; Details:  Punjab is well-known for its Baisakhi fair. This festival is celebrated at several places in the state and is organized from 13th to 15th April every year and lasts for three days from 1st to 3rd Baisakh, the month of Harvest.
