HistoryEdit
The amusement park Appu Ghar has been named after the mascot called Appu, an elephant. ‘Ghar’ is the Hindi equivalent for English ‘house’. Thus Appu Ghar means Appu’s House. Actually Appu was the name given to a live elephant in the 1982 Asian Games hosted in New Delhi, the capital of India. The elephant had become extremely popular all across the world during those days and children especially loved the elephant. This is the reason why it was apt to name an amusement park after the mascot.

- The auto rickshaw drivers can overcharge so ask them for meter readings and follow the rules of the meter while making payments. The city is heavily polluted in crowded junctions so avoid traveling in rush hours.
