Digha is a town that is situated in the state of West Bengal, in the district of East Midnapore. It is a popular beach town and there are different activities that you can engage in the area. Many tourists from nearby areas flock to the place during the peak tourist season. The entire stretch of the Digha Beach is lined with casuarina trees and the whole area is extremely scenic. There are a few beaches that are located nearby as well and these are relatively untouched and clean. The Udaipur Beach and the Shankarpur Beach are located in close proximity and these are worth visiting as they have not yet been affected by tourism. If you are interested in activities such as fishing and angling you can travel to the town of Junpat, which is situated 40 kilometers away. There are several fishing spots, which are located in the area. It is also worth visiting the Marine Aquarium and Research Center. Some of the other tourist places in the region include Subarnareskha River, Talsari, and Lord Shiva Temple. Mandarmani Beach is a small stretch that is an up and coming tourist destination. The Subarnareskha Delta is a good place for picnics and the river drains into the sea at this point.

Digha is a seaside resort city in the state of West Bengal, India. It lies in East Midnapore district and at the northern end of the Bay of Bengal. It is the most popular sea resort in the West Bengal. Renowned for its beaches, Digha is visited by thousands of tourists every year. Digha is a small town and crowded with hotels generally around one main road. Its proximity to Kolkata (187 km) attracts the tourists throughout the year. Digha is a hard beach where one can drive during low tide Digha beach is seven km long and very wide but if a beach holiday is what you want, carry on south to Puri or Gapalpur-on-Sea. The main attraction of Digha is that the River Hoogly merges into the Bay of Bengal over here. Digha offers every possible attraction for a sea-loving travelers: good surf and golden sands.New Digha is an extension of Digha. It too has several hotels. There is a small park with an artificial lake here.

By Air : The closest airport is situated in the city of Kolkata and this will be the most feasible option for those who are arriving at the place by air. The airport is connected to around 25 cities in the country. There are regular flights from various international destinations as well. Both regional and private operators offer services from cities such as Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Guwahati and a few other places. You can also travel to the city from Frankfurt, Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok. Up on reaching the airport, you can opt for a taxi to the town of Digha and they cost around Rs 7 per kilometer.
By Train : The town of Digha has a railway station that is directly connected to the city of Howrah Dgha Hwh Duront). Regular trains are available and special trains are also announced periodically. This is a preferred mode of transport and you have to book tickets well in advance. Second class seats cost around Rs 80 for the short trip.
By Bus : Buses which cost around Rs 2 to 5 per km is available from various parts of the state.
