Dibrugarh is a city that is located in the state of Assam in the Dibrugarh district. The place is located on banks of the River Brahmaputra and the city is the entry point to a tea district in the state. Dibrugarh is also well known for its wood and bamboo work. There are numerous tea gardens that are present here that date back to the time of the British. Many tourists who visit the city also travel to the Namdapha National Park that is located 160 kilometers away from the place. It is a large protected area and there are many species of wildlife that can be seen here. The park is also home to some species of flora. This makes for an interesting day trip.

Dibrugarh is a city, well known as the Tea City of India and the headquarters of Dibrugarh district in Assam. There are four airfields that are located in the city and these are ideal for those who are interested in history. These airfields can be explored and they date back to World War II. One can also visit the various tea factories that are located here. Visiting the tea estates is also a good idea, after obtaining permission from the owners. Driving through them can be a fun filled experience and routes are picturesque.

By Air : The city of Dibrugarh has a small airport and it receives flights from Kolkata, Guwahati, Delhi, Itanagar and Dimapur. Taxis are available outside and they charge between Rs 100 and 300 to the city center.

By Train : The Dibrugarh station is well connected and receives frequent trains from a few cities like Howrah (Kamrup Express), Kanpur (Brahmputra Mail) and Allahabad (Brahmputra Mail ). This is the best all round option as tickets are cheap and trains are extremely comfortable. Ticket prices from Guwahati to Dibrugarh are around Rs 230 for a second class coach. The station is connected to Delhi (Brahmputra Mail) as well. Autos will be available at the station and they are cheapest mode of travel to reach any point in the city.

By Bus : Buses are available from different parts of the state to the town and these are used extensively by the local population. Day-Super and Night-Super buses are available from other cities as well. Ticket prices vary according to the distance travelled.
