Kareem’s Forest park is the only man-made forest in the Kerala Kareem Forest park is spread over 32 acres of land. Kareem, a native of Kasaragod, is behind this great green venture. The forest park is located in Parappa near Nileshwar and is a remarkable example for forest conservation. Similar to any other natural forest Kareem’s forest park is rich with a variety of plants and shrubs. It also gives shelter to innumerable species of birds, small wild animals and medicinal plants. The forest is frequented by people from different walks of life, environmentalists, scientists, university and Ayurveda students, and laymen for practical experience and study purpose. Mr. Kareem is also multiplying and distributing the seeds and saplings of forest trees and medicinal plants to convert the waste lands into thick forests which in turn will rejuvenate the earth. The park also offers trekking facilities for the adventure lovers.

Kareem’s Forest Park alias Puliyamkulam Park is globally acknowledged as an ecological miracle, is the only man made forest in Kerala, was created in 1979 by P. Abdul Kareem, an environmental activist and a nature-lover. Tourist from all over the country are visiting this park not only to enjoy the pristine beauty and pure natural environment, but also for practical experience and study purpose.

Taxi : Local taxis are also available at cheap rates varying from Cars,Jeeps,Tourist buses.

Bus : Kasargod is well connected to other towns of the state as well as India by Motorable roads. Private and KSRTC Buses are available, local bus service system is cheap serving passengers at Rs 6 per km.

Train : Kasargod Railway Station connects the city with other major cities of the state.

Air : Mangalore International Airport in Karnataka is the nearest airport, situated at a distance of 50 km from the Kasargod.

Others : Autorickshaw : This is cheap way of transportation facility between attractions and have the minimum fare of Rs 15 and Rs 5 addidtion to every kilometers.

  • Carry items such as camera, binoculars, sun glasses, medical kit, emergency lights. Carry your own food and plenty of water because restaurant is not available near sight.
