Aronda is a small village that is located in the state of Maharashtra in the Sindhurburgh district. The village has a port and it is located near the Goa and Maharashtra boundary. The village is located near a river called the Terekol River. There are many temples that are located in the place and these are interesting places to visit. Some of the important temples in the place are Kulkar Temple, Sateri Badrakali and the Garudi Temple. There are a few more religious sites located in the area as well. These ancient temples have an interesting architecture and are worth a visit. The temples are well decorated during the festive season and this is a good time to visit the place. Many devotees visit the temple of Sateri Badrakali from all parts of the country during the time of Suddha Chaturthi. Jatra Utsav takes place in the temple at this time. Fireworks during this time are one of the highlights of the festive season. Aronda is known for its excellent cuisine, especially the sea food. One must try the cuisine when visiting the place. The small port village of Redi is also located close by and this place is also worth visiting while travelling to the place. Aronda experiences tropical weather conditions and the place is hot for many months of the year. Monsoon season is extensive and the conditions are humid due to the proximity of the Arabian Sea as well. The post monsoon period and the winter season is comparatively cooler and this is the best time to visit the place.

The village of Aronda was originally called Aravande, which was derived from Aravind that refers to lotus. Devtale Lake is a famous lake in the village which flows between the three temples of Shri Sateri, Ravalnath and Badrakali. This lake is decorated with several red lotuses, thereby earning the village its name Aravande.

By Air : The nearest airport is located at Dabolim in Goa and this is the most suitable option for those who are arriving by air. The airport is located around 60 km from the village of Aronda. Dabolim is connected to places such as Mumbai and Bangalore with frequent flights. Taxis are available from the airport to the village and they charge around Rs 600 for the trip. By Train : The nearest rail head is located at Sawantwadi and this is situated at a distance of around 16 km from the place. This place is well connected to many places along the Konkan Stretch. Trains arrive from places such as Mumbai, Patna, Goa and Pune. Auto rickshaws and taxis are available from the station and these can be used to reach Aronda village.
