The third largest city of Mongolia, Darkhan is having a population of around 75000 people. It is the capital of the province named Darkhan-Uul Aimag. This city was constructed in 1971 with a lot of assistance was given from Russia. Originally this place was thought to be a site for manufacturing in the northern territory of Mongolia. It is an industrial city with the majority of the people being native Russians. The climate of this city is cold continental. It usually has warm summers and cold and dry winters. The temperature usually ranges between 25 to 30 degrees Celsius. This city lies in between the Khentii and Khangai mountain ranges. The Kharagiin Buddhist Monastery and the Traditional Museum of Folk Art are the main tourist attractions of Darkhan. This city provides many outdoor activities for tourists.
