Bugiri is a town in Eastern Uganda. It is the ‘chief town’ of Bugiri District and the district headquarters are located there. Bugiri is located approximately 77 kilometres (48 mi), by road, east of Jinja, on the highway between Jinja, the largest city in Busoga sub-region, and Tororo. This location lies approximately 166 kilometres (103 mi), by road, east of Kampala, the capital of Uganda, and the largest city in the country.
