Lungi is an coastal town in Port Loko District in the Northern Province. The town had a population of 4185 in the 2004 census , with a current estimate of 8,091 (World gazetteer). The town is separated from Freetown by the Sierra Leone sea. The town is home to the Lungi International Airport, the international airport that serves Sierra Leone.
