Visitors come back again to relax to the relatively untouched laid back ambience.The main river in Coorg is the Kaveri (Cauvery) which starts at Talkaveri, almost 40 km away from Madikeri. The climate is pleasant compared to other parts of Southern India. In July and August, rainfall is intense, and there are often rain showers into November. Yearly rainfall may exceed 4, 000 millimeters in certain areas. The winters are normally chilly and temperature ranges from 11 C to 25 C. The winter is normally from November to January. The hottest time is April, May when the temperature may cross 33 C
