Well known for its sand dunes, beaches, marine turtles and traditional music, the Cape Verdean island of Boa Vista is sprawled over a 620 square kilometer area. Though most of this island is flat, Boa Vista features a few mountains including the Monte Estancia, Santo Antonio and Monte Negro. Showcasing several attractions of tourist interest, Boa Vista is having a well developed tourist infrastructure which provides facilities for a variety of tourist recreational activities like surfing, diving, fishing, horse riding, bird watching and walking trails.
Home to several festivals and carnivals spanning throughout the year, Boa Vista is the third largest island of the Cape Verde archipelago. Several hotels, bars and restaurants are located on this island, especially around the main city of Sal Rei which is now literally a tourist haven. The Rabil International Airport at Boa Vista is strategically connected to numerous destinations within Europe aiming to build up a regular flow of tourist traffic to Cape Verde holiday destinations.
