The pristine island of Barbuda features the largest rookery in the Caribbean and is a major tourist destination that offers its travelers with loads of attractive places to visit and tons of recreational activities to indulge in. As compared to Antigua, Barbuda is a calm island attracting few visitors but is wilder and features impulsive beauty.
The main attractions for tourists in Barbuda are isolated beaches and wilderness areas rich in flora and fauna. The highlight of Barbuda is the World-renowned Barbuda Frigate Bird Sanctuary which is only accessible by boat and attracts enthusiastic bird watchers towards more than two hundred species of birds including the fabled frigate birds. The coral reefs along Barbuda coast offer excellent diving opportunities and are renowned as treasure-trove of shipwrecks. The village of Codrington located on the edge of a lagoon provides some exciting excursion opportunities.
