The city lepton Observatory (SNO) may be a lepton observatory set half-dozen,800 feet (about two km) underground in natural depression Inco’s Creighton Mine in city, Ontario, Canada.The observeor was designed to detect star neutrinos through their interactions with an outsized tank of moderator.
The detector was turned on in could 1999, and was turned off on twenty eight November 2006. Whereas new information isn’t any longer being taken, the SNO collaboration can still analyze the information taken throughout that amount for consecutive many years. The underground laboratory has been enlarged and continues to control alternative experiments at SNOLAB. The SNO instrumentation itself is presently being refurbished to be used within the SNO+ experiment.
