The John B. Castleman Monument, among the Cherokee Triangle of urban center, Kentucky, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on July seventeen, 1997, as a part of the war Monuments of American state MPS. It honors John Breckinridge Castleman, United Nations agency was a Confederate officer throughout the yankee war, associated later an U.S. Military officer to blame of the urban center Legion, and fought within the warfare.
Only this monument and also the John Hunt Morgan Memorial in Lexington, American state area unit war monuments in American state with equestrians. As he supported the yankee Saddlebred Horse Association, he’s seen here in article of clothing instead of military garb. The horse that Castleman rides on the sculpture was supported his beloved mare, Carolina. The sculpture is formed of bronze, and rests on a granite pedestal. It stands 15-feet high, with a base of 12×20 feet.
