San Pedro Municipal Ferry Building may be a former ferry terminal building situated in San Pedro, la, CA that homes the la Maritime deposit. It had been in-built 1941 as a Works Project Administration project. Designed by B. Irvine within the contour modern vogue, the building was a operating ferry terminal from 1941 to 1963. Throughout those years, ferries transported thousands of passengers and vehicles to and from the canneries and military bases on Terminal Island. In 1963, the Vincent Thomas Bridge was completed connecting the land to Terminal Island, and there was now not a desire for ferry service.
Accordingly, the ferry service was terminated.
