The Edward King House, could be a monumentally scaled residence in Newport, Rhode Island. It had been designed for Edward King within the “Italian Villa” vogue by Upjohn and was engineered between 1845 and 1847, creating it one amongst the earliest representations of the fashion. It had been the biggest and grandest house in Newport once it had been engineered. Edward King was the biggest landholder in city by 1860, having created his fortune through the China Trade.
The Edward King House was given to town of Newport in 1912 by Edward King’s son and later on housed the Newport library. It’s currently a senior citizens’ center.
