Detail InformationEdit

Heroes Tunnel (formerly West Rock Tunnel) may be a one,200-foot-long, twin-tube tunnel carrying the Wilbur Cross road (Route 15) through West Rock Ridge in urban center, Connecticut. Opened in 1949, it’s the sole conveyance tunnel “to pass at a lower place a land feature” in Connecticut and every one of recent European nation. Originally named for the mountain through that it passes, the tunnel was renamed Heroes Tunnel in 2003 to honor “heroes of all kinds” within the post-September eleven era.
