The Dahesh deposit of Art is that the solely deposit within the u. S. Dedicated to the gathering and exhibition of European educational art of the nineteenth and twentieth century. The gathering originated with Lebanese author, humanist, and thinker Saleem Moussa Ashi (1909-1984), whose nom de guerre was Dr. Dahesh. The core of the museum’s exhibit is Dr. Dahesh’s assortment of over a pair of,000 educational paintings created in a very vogue that struggled for years to vie with artistic movement. From 2008 through early 2012, the deposit was while not a home since 2008 with the gathering on the market on-line and in a very traveling exhibition. In early 2012, the deposit reopened in Manhattan’s Hudson sq. Neighborhood, near SoHo.
