Flamingo is associate degree unorganized community and town in Monroe County, Florida, u. S.. It began as atiny low coastal settlement on the japanese finish of Cape Sable on the southern tip of the Sunshine State earth, facing Sunshine State Bay. It’s currently the southmost headquarters of swamp park, the tip of the 99-mile (159-km) wild Waterway called the 10 Thousand Islands, and therefore the southern finish of the sole road (running thirty eight miles / sixty one km) through the park from Sunshine State town.
After the tip of the Seminole Wars there have been scattered settlements on Cape Sable, together with at wader. The settlers created a living by providing fish, contemporary vegetables and charcoal to town.
