The Sandy Ground Historical depository, settled among the Sandy Ground community of Rossville on the borough of Staten Island, is devoted to the oldest unendingly settled free black settlement within the u. s.. The depository is home to the most important assortment of Staten Island’s African-American culture and history and it’s going to even be home to the sole intact eighteenth -century African site in America. The depository is operated by the Sandy Ground Historical Society and its annual pageant may be a celebration of black history, culture and freedom.
