The Bagley Memorial Fountain could be a historic fountain in Detroit. It’s recently been captive from its long-time location in field Martius Park to a replacement location in barely down the road in Cadillac sq. Park. The fountain was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and selected a Michigan State Historic website in 1971.
The John N. Bagley House (1889) at 2921 East President of the United States Avenue in Detroit was contructed for Governor Bagley’s son, and is additionally listed on the National Register of Historic Places.The Bagley Memorial Fountain stands twenty one feet high with a basin seven feet across. At the middle of the fountain, four lion heads distribute water. Within the original style, 2 of the heads made “normal” temperature water and therefore the alternative 2 made cold water, chilled by ice packed round the fountain pipes.
