Callanwolde may be a Gothic-Tudor mansion on a twelve.5 acre estate in non-Christian priest Hills, adjacent to Atlanta, Georgia. From 1920 to 1959, it absolutely was the family home of Charles Howard Candler (1878-1957), the eldest son of Asa Griggs Candler, the co-founder of Coca-Cola.
Howard Candler was chairman of the board of trustees of Emory University from 1929 till his death in 1957. In 1959 his widow given Callanwolde estate and lots of furnishings, to Emory, that then sold it to the primary Christian Church, that closely-held it till DeKalb County purchased it in 1971.
