Qoornoq is Associate in Nursing abandoned fishing village within the Sermersooq municipality in southwestern island. The world was far-famed to possess been colonised by the traditional pre-Inuit, Paleo-Eskimo individuals of the Saqqaq culture as so much back as 2200 before Christ. It still contains archaeologic ruins of ancient Red Indian and Norse buildings.
The site was excavated in 1952 and therefore the remains of Associate in Nursing Germanic farm and ancient tools were discovered. The skin walls of the farm ar double hatched and contain many Red Indian homes. The village was abandoned in 1972. Qoornoq is found on the northeastern coast of the Qoornuup Qeqertarsua Island within the Nuup Kangerlua recess, to the northeast of Nuuk, the capital of island.
