Adventure Sports in Shimla are among the most famous activities of tourists visiting Shimla. Naldehra Golf Club

The Naldehra Golf Club is an unusual course, and is regarded as one of the most challenging courses to play at in the country. Perched at an altitude of 2,200 meters, surrounded by a thick canopy of Deodar trees, it is a 18 hole golf course with 16 Greens and 18 Tees. Designed over a long sloping glade, it boasts of considerable character, with wide views of the Himalayas and thick woods all around. There’s even an ancient temple just beside the greens.

Ice Skating

Shimla is one of the very places in the country where Ice skating can be enjoyed. This is a difficult sport that can be undertaken only by experts. Held only during the winters (November to March) the ice skating rink is located near the Rivoli bus stand.For those who want to learn this sport, various sessions are conducted during morning and evening by the Ice Skating Club of Shimla. Membership is also provided for short and long terms courses. Basic equipment required to enjoy the sport are also available at the rink. An ice skating festival is also organized here in the month of January, by the ice skating club of Shimla and sees a lot of tourist participation.

The Ridge

The Ridge road is a large open space which runs east to west alongside the Mall Road, and joins it at the Scandal point on the west side. On the east side, the Ridge road leads to Lakkar Bazaar, a wooden crafts market. The large water reservoir present at the Ridge acts as the main supply of Shimla town.The Ridge road is also the venue for summer festival (held in May), government functions and local celebrations during the New Year’s Eve. Some of the most prominent landmarks of Shimla are located on the Ridge. Dotted with a church, library and many statues, the Ridge is a choice of many for a long walk.

Trekking, Shimla

Shimla is surrounded by the beautiful and mystical Himalayan Mountains and to explore the true natural beauty, trekking is the ultimate option. Taradevi is the place in Shimla for that. take Shimla-Kalka toy train from Shimla and get down at Taradevi station (3rd stop). from Taradevi station, follow the trekking trail to the mandir. The trekking trail traverse through ranges of Himalayan mountains with spectacular view of the slopes and the clouds descending through them. Stop by at certain locations to rejuvenate with fresh rain water that seeps through the rocks. The trekking trail is completely safe for family or couples.

Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking is not just a sport but also a Popular means of travelling in Shimla. It is the best means of exploring the nearby town of Naldehra, Salogra etc. Motorbikes are readily available on rent in various shops at the mall. Rates are negotiable.
