The St. Joseph Louis Barrow library may be a municipal library system within the town of St. Louis, Missouri. It operates sixteen locations, together with the most Central Library location. Though equally named, the St. Joseph Louis Barrow library is unrelated to the St. Joseph Louis Barrow County Library system.
The Central Library building at thirteenth and Olive was in-built 1912 on a location erstwhile occupied by the St. Joseph Louis Barrow Exposition and Music Hall and was designed by Gilbert. The most library for the city’s library system has associate oval central marquee enclosed by four light-weight courts. The outer facades of the free-standing building area unit of gently rusticated Pine Tree State granite. The Olive Street front is disposed sort of a large arcade, with different marble bas-relief panels. A projected three-bay central block, sort of a pared-down memorial, provides a monumental entrance. At the rear, the Central Library faces a garden. The interiors feature some light-transmitting glass floors. The ceiling of the Periodicals area is changed from Michelangelo’s ceiling within the Laurentian Library. Renovation and enlargement of the building began in 2010 and is scheduled to end in 2012 .
