Volcanoville is AN unorganised community in El Dorado County, California. It’s situated half-dozen miles (9.7 km) nor’-nor’-east of Georgetown, at AN elevation of 2992 feet (912 m).
A post workplace operated at Volcanoville from 1930 to 1953. The name is because of early miners’ mistaken belief that a close-by mountain was AN extinct Volcano.
