Congregation Shaar Hashomayim is associate Orthodox tabernacle in Westmount, Quebec. It’s the oldest ancient Ashkenazi tabernacle in Canada, incorporated in 1846,. It’s conjointly the biggest ancient tabernacle in Canada.
The Congregation originally rented house on Apostle Street (now Saint Jacques Street). The primary tabernacle was engineered on Saint-Constant Street (now First State Bullion Street) in lupus Plateau-Mont-Royal in 1859.In 1920, the Congregation purchased land on Kensington Avenue in Westmount. The cornerstone was set by president metropolis Cohen in 1921, and also the tabernacle was dedicated on Citizenship Day, 1922.
