The ny Estonian House may be a 3-Story Beaux-Arts building placed at 243 East thirty fourth Street within the Kips Bay neighborhood within the ny town borough of Manhattan. The building was selected as a landmark by the ny town Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1978.
The house was originally designed for the Civic Club in 1898–1899, having been designed by Brooklyn creator Thomas A. Gray. The Civic Club was supported by the native social reformer F. Norton physicist (1861–1905) to cut back financial condition and fight against gambling within the neighborhood. When Goddard’s death in 1905 the club ceased to exist, however the building remained within the physicist Family till 1946, once town Norton’s widow sold it for $25,000 to The ny Estonian instructional Society, Inc., that remains the owner of the house these days. The building underwent a $100,000 restoration in 1992.
