Mount Saint Michael (known conversationally as “The Mount”) could be a ancient Catholic Church compound in Spokane, Washington. It is the house of Saint Michael’s Academy and as a parish center for traditionalist Catholics within the Spokane space. It’s staffed by the monks, brothers and sisters of the Congregation of Madonna Immaculate Queen (CMRI). The most building is the motherhouse for the sisters. The parsonage for the monks and brothers is additionally settled on the property in a very separate building. Mount Saint Michael is listed as a National Historic Place by the park Service.
St. Michael’s was supported by Father Joseph Caruana as a Jesuit mission simply north of Spokane within the mid-19th century to serve the Native Americans within the space. In 1878, Caruana’s successor, Father Joseph Cataldo, moved the mission to its current location with a buying deal of virtually one,000 acres (4 kilometre square) of land at the value of $2 per acre.
