Tom Gola Arena, The Tom, The Gola, is a 4,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania placed within the Hayman Center. It’s home to the La Salle University Explorers basketball and volleyball groups. It’s named once Tom Gola, a Philadelphia jock and coach World Health Organization is within the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
The building was opened in Feb 1998. La Salle’s Explorers had not contend basketball on field since exploit Owen Wister Hall in 1955, the season once the 1954 NCAA Championship. The Explorers contend at the playing field from 1955 to 1989, the Philadelphia Civic Center from 1989 to 1996, and also the initial Union Spectrum from 1996 till the podium opened in 1998. In Philadelphia’s 2016 Summer Olympiad bid, the podium was planned to host fencing.
