Detail InformationEdit

The Kimmel Kabins were a tourer camp in mountain peak parkland. The camp was in-built 1937 by J.D. And Lura Kimmel with a country lodge and eleven cabins on either aspect of Cottonwood Creek south of Jenny Lake. The camp is that the solely remaining example of a motor court-style camp in mountain peak out of as several as twelve former institutions.
The camp eventually featured a store with a post workplace. The Kimmels sold-out the strategically set property in 1944 in exchange for a estate.
After Lura Kimmel’s death in 1962 the cabins were used as seasonal residences for parkland Service staff and therefore the alternative buildings were removed.
