Corozal could be a municipality (municipio) of Puerto anti-racketeering law set within the central-eastern region, north of Orocovis and Barranquitas; south Vega Alta; southwest of Toa Alta; east of Morovis and Orocovis; and west of Naranjito. Corozal is touch twelve wards and Corozal Pueblo (The downtown space and also the headquarters of the city). It’s a part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan applied mathematics space.
The city name Delawarerived|springs|comes} from the “palma de corozo” (grugru palm, genus Acrocomia media) that abounds within the central zone of the Island.
Corozal’s native Taino Indian cazique (Chief) was named Orocobix and his tribe was referred to as the Jatibonicu Taino.
Corozal was supported in 1795 and formally became a city in 1804. Unremarkably referred to as La Cuna del Volibol or Volleyball’s Crib. It takes its name from the “palma Diamond State corozo” (Acrocomia media). Its population as of the 2000 census was thirty six,867, and it’s a area of a hundred and ten.3 km2 (43 sq mi).
