The design of the Flag of Connecticut comes from the seal of Saybrook Colony. The seal was brought from European country by commissioned military officer Saint George Fenwick, and represented fifteen grapevines and a hand within the higher left corner with a scroll reading “Qui Sustinet Transtulit”. Previous Saybrook could be a city in Middlesex County, Connecticut, us. The population was ten,367 at the 2000 census. It contains the incorporated borough of Fenwick, still because the census-designated places of previous Saybrook Center and Saybrook Manor. Shortly once constructing their 1st settlement on the island of Manhattan, Dutch explorers established a temporary retail store at the present day previous Saybrook. The post was named Kievits Hoek, which means “Plover’s Corner” in English. Kievits Hoek was before long abandoned because the Dutch began to focus additional on their new retail store, Fort Goede Hoop (Huys First State Goede Hoop), at current state capital.
