Fort Mississauga National Historic website could be a fort on the shore of Ontario, shortly from the Niagara River in Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario. The fort these days consists of a box-shaped brick tower and historic angular earthworks-the only 1 within the country. The all-brick fort was engineered from 1814-1816 throughout the War of 1812, to interchange near Fort martyr.
It was engineered on a foundation of brick and stone salvaged from detritus left when us forces raped the near city of urban center in December, 1813. It might facilitate within the defense of higher Canada the subsequent year, as a part of a regional network that enclosed Fort martyr, Navy Hall, and Butler’s Barracks.
