House of Taga is found close to San Jose Village, on the island of Tinian, us Commonwealth of the Northern archipelago, within the archipelago land. The positioning is that the location of a series of prehistoric espresso stone pillars that were quarried regarding four,000 feet (1,200 m) south of it. Only 1 pillar is left standing erect. The name springs from a mythological chief named Taga, United Nations agency is claimed to possess erected the pillars as a foundation for his own house. Legend says Chief Taga was dead by his girl, and her spirit is captive within the lone standing megalithic structure at the positioning.The prehistoric espresso stone pillars (also known as taga stones) at House of Taga stood fifteen feet (4.6 m) high, and were quarried regarding four,000 feet (1,200 m) south of the positioning. The first megaliths consisted of a base (haligi) and a subfigure cap (tasa). Once uprighted in spaced parallel rows, it’s believed a house was designed on high. Of the twelve upright stones sketched by British adventurer patron saint Anson throughout his 1742 visit to Tinian, only 1 remains standing. The As Nieves Rota espresso Stone Quarry is believed to be the archipelago origin of the amount of those megalithic structure structures.
